Why is an Internet T1 Line So Much Better Than Cable?

If you think you're doing OK with your cable internet connection, think of how much better you could be doing with an internet T1 line.  After all, time is money!  Your business is better off with an internet T1 line because:

It comes with guarantees

The biggest guarantee you'll get from an internet T1 line is the SLA (or, "Service Level Agreement").   That's actually a fancy name for the contract that your provider is bound to.  In it, you'll see exactly what kind of uptime you're entitled to and even how fast of a response you're entitled to when you run into technical issues.

And, just in case your provider doesn't live up to its end of the bargain, you'll see exactly what you're entitled to in return.

Compare that to your local cable company -- which wants to give you good customer service, because that's good for its reputation, but it's not required to do so.  Your cable company isn't bound by any kind of agreement or contract when you pay your bill every month.

With cable, you're not guaranteed any kind of fast or consistent connection.  Instead, you'll hear things about "peak times"!

Plus, if you run into any kind of technical problems, you'll have to call customer service just like everyone else -- and there's no guarantee you'll get to the front of the line anytime soon.

It has a better upstream

No matter who your cable company is, your download speed will always be much higher than your upload speed.  That may not mean much now -- but it will when you're trying to send over that giant presentation before the big business meeting!

With an internet T1 line, though, your upload and download speeds will always be identical.  That way, whether you're sending or receiving, you can always count on your information to travel quickly.  In the end, it will allow you to generally work more efficiently.

It's more flexible

An internet T1 line's flexibility begins with the price.  Because there are so many different providers to choose from, you'll basically get to pick and choose how much you want to pay.  With cable, you're stuck with the one or two companies that service your area.  They have no incentive to give you a great deal!

Plus, an internet T1 line's flexibility extends to its coverage area.  It's easy for providers to extend these lines into rural or other remote areas.  If you try to do that with cable, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg!
